Rules for Charades

Charades is a team-based party game where players act out words or phrases—such as movies, books, or songs—using only silent gestures within a set time limit (usually 60-90 seconds).

The goal is to get your team to guess the phrase before time runs out to earn points.

Key Rules and Setup

  1. Split players into two equal teams
  2. Players write down phrases (movies, books, etc.) on slips of paper and put them in a bowl (don't worry, there are some presets)
  3. One player from a team draws a slip and acts it out without talking or making sounds (from easy or hard bowl)
  4. The team tries to guess the phrase within the time limit (don't make any sound)
  5. The team with the most points, at the end of the game, wins
